The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) has attribute 455 blue flags to the Spanish beaches. Despite being a less number than the previous year; Spain continues to be the leader country of blue flags.
With a coast of 8000 Km and with more than 3000 points marked as beaches Spain is considered to be one of the countries with best water quality, the best access, concern about environmental education and information - these are some aspects that FEE has in mind to give the blue flags.
In the top of the ranking, with 112 flags is the region of Catalonia; Galicia is the next one with 105 flags, followed by the Valencia Community counts with 100 flags and the Balearic Islands with 84.

During three months Zaragoza will be in the centre of Spain – it will be Expo Zaragoza 2008. This international exposition is going to open the doors in 14th June till 14th September.
The water is the protagonist of this exposition since the name of this international exposition is “Agua y desarollo sostenible” – “Water and Sustainable Development”. The purpose of this theme is to warn people to the importance of the water and also to its ethical compromise. 140 pavilions, 20 thousand m2 of restaurants and 25 terraces are some of the under structure that will form the exposition, but there are three buildings that will have more attention the: water building, the aquarium and the bridge pavilion.
