Travel Tips to Cheap Vacation, Extraordinary Extramadura Spain

Published by Travel Blogger under Spain Destinations

A traveler always passed by Extamadura going to Portugal. This place is seen as something – uninteresting by some. Perhaps they just lack the time to uncover and unwrap the gifts that Extramadura travel can bring to them.

There are three towns that you should acquaint yourself when you are in your Extamdura travel. These are Caceres, Merida, and Trujillo. Caceres’s highlight is the ciudad Monumental. The Romans legacy and ruins is what made Merida a shining jewel. Francisco Pizarro is very popular in Trujillo, the third town in Extramdura.

Caceres is a good town to start viewing old palatial houses, churches and squares. Yet, it was Merida’s treasure of roman ruins that took my heart away. I learned that it was once the largest and beautiful Roman city on the whole of Iberian Peninsula.

The church of Saint Eulalia, Alcazba and various museums collecting the relics and evidence from the past of the Romans and Visigoth are only some of the attractions in Merida.

Nightlife in Extramadura is also sizzling like in any other Spanish City. One good bar is the Taxi in Zafra. Do not be discourage by it shabby look. Once you get the feel of the bar, you will just love it. Tourists really do not go so far in this place but it was the best; the food is great and worth tasting.

Francisco Pizarro was one great conquistador in Extamadura. Following its footstep and century old career is very satisfying. Even a tourist who is not a historical buff would love to hear how one extraordinary boy became great and remembered in history.

For those who love to stay a while and would like to get to know Extramadura; they do not worry for Extramdura accommodations are just great for a globe trotter and experienced traveler.
