  3. Spain is dominated with Catholic devotees and every year different parts of the country are celebrating religious festivities together with dancing and singing Spanish people. Most of the traditional events in Spain are really entertaining and vibrant that makes the tourists enjoy the moment while they were in Spain.

  4. As one of Spain’s tradition and despite the animal rights activists there are still many travelers who enjoyed and amazed the bull fighting activity in Spain. Another exciting event to witness as well in Spain is the Pamplona bull runs which is commemorated during the San Fermin festivities.

  5. And of course one of the main reasons why Spain has been a rushing country because of its never ending beautiful beaches. Spain has been considered as a summer paradise. The country as well is the favorite spot of the expert surfers.

Sanfermines, Running of the Bulls


The world-renowned running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain is locally known as Sanfermines.  It is an annual celebration that would start on June 6th and end on midnight of June 14th. The festival is opened with the singing of Pobre de Mi. The running of the bulls or Encierro to the Spanish people is the most famous event.

 

The festival is a celebration in honor of Saint Fermin, martyred at Amiens. It was said that the saint died by being dragged or pulled by bulls through the streets of Pamplona.

 

The Encierro requires running, of the white clad participants with red handkerchiefs around their neck, in front of bulls on  825 meter stretch in a section of the town Pamplona.

 

The running of the bulls begins with the sound of two rockets. The first firecracker signal the fact that the bulls are released from their pens; and the second firecrackers made known to everyone that the last bull already left the pen. A third and fourth blast of the firecrackers announces that all of the bulls are already in the stadium and the run is finished.

 

The running of the bull is considered as one of Europe’s oddity. It is one of the most famous festivals in Spain that attracts hundreds of tourist. In fact, safety measure for the encierro is announced in different language for the nationalities of participants vary from Asians to North Americans.

COME TO SPAIN AND ENJOY “SEMANA SANTA”

During seven days Spain will be on party, it is “Semana Santa”. Besides being a catholic party, connected to the church, this is also the most important holiday in this country. There are celebrations around all Spain, but the stately ones are in: Cartagena, Sevilla, Salamanca, Málaga, Léon and Zamora, besides other ones.

“Semana Santa” symbolizes the big actions and sacrifices from Jesus to redeem the mistakes of humankind; it is a period of passion, death and rebirth of Jesus. The celebrations start on 16 and goes till 23 of March. The high important days are on Sunday, which is “Domingo de Ramos” [Branch Sunday], and on Friday - the death of Jesus. On Saturday Jesus will be buried and in the last day of celebrations Sunday it is Jesus rebirth.

During these days there a lot of processions, followed by a huge number of believers. But the most wonderful thing in this party is the luxurious images that are carried by the pilgrims who wear special tunics that covers all there bodies. They go on the procession to be forgiven or to give grace to Jesus.

Spain is a country with a huge catholic tradition and every year there are a lot of tourists that come to Spain to take part of “Semana Santa” the only thing which is missing is… you!
