TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: CADIZ SPAIN BENAOCAZ
Benaocaz is located on the Northeastern part of Cadiz, south of the Tavizna river, at the foot of the Sierra del Endrinal.
Benaocaz industry is mainly agriculture and stockbreeding. It is very rich in cattle and has become famous for the hams and cold cuts produced by its residents.
Christians conquered Benaocaz in 1485, and a short 5 years later, it was turned over by the Catholic Monarchs to Rodrigo Ponce de León as part of his family's territory. But it was actually the Arabs who founded Benaocaz. Today the town continues to have an Arab feel to it, especially in the streets of Ave Maria and Progreso.
