PLACES OF INTEREST
The main street of Los Barrios is lined by a number of flowerbeds that are very pleasing to the eyes. The roundabout has the famous statue of a bull. Around town, other crossroads have been made into small roundabouts where sculptures can be seen and each roundabout features one of a different design.
The old part of town is located on a hill towards the east. This square, called the Plaza de la Iglesia, is where the townsfolk gather together to sit on the cast iron benches and stay in the afternoon shade. The old church, the Iglesia San Isidro Labrador, as well as the town hall, the tower and the casino can be found surrounding the square.
In town there is also a round pool with water flowing from the Palmones river. Visitors to this pool can opt to hang around the pool side and fish for trouts. In the west, the new part of town contains one of the most modern bull rings in Spain which was opened in 1998. Los Barrios is also home to a first rate museum located in Calle Calvarion, the Museo de Historia Natural.
