TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: CADIZ SPAIN UBRIQUE
PLACES OF INTEREST
The town of Ubrique maintains the stately grace from ages past. Most of the buildings are whitewashed, similar to those in other towns in the Pueblos Blancos. One building of particular interest is the convent of Capuchinos, which was probably constructed in the years between 1660 and 1668, by the Duke of Arcos, and whose construction was overseen by one Friar Pedro de Andújar. Much of the interior of the building was destroyed by the French. It was here that notable missionaries and men of the cloth spent their formative years, such as Friar Felix Jose de Ubrique, and the devout Diego Jose of Cadiz.
The Chapel of San Sebastián is also another historical structure, built in the 16th century.
