TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: COSTA DEL SOL SPAIN TORREMOLINOS
PLACES OF INTEREST
Torremolinos, unfortunately, does not offer much in the way of historical sites, museums, or monuments. The main attraction of Torremolinos is the stretch of old street called Calle San Miguel ("St. Michael Street"). This curious street lies in the heart of the town and is off limits to vehicles. Here, one can find hundreds of little shops, boutiques, and stores, all offering a bewildering array of goods and services. The Calle offers visitors a glimpse and feel of old Torremolinos.
At the end of the Calle San Miguel, is another little road called Cuesta del Tajo. This leads down a flight of stairs through El Bajondillo, an old fishing district and one of Torremolinos' suburbs. El Bajondillo is another picturesque holdover from the older days of Torremolinos, lined with souvenir shops and little market kiosks, restaurants and bars.
The Carihuela is another of Torremolinos' suburbs and is a sea front promenade that features restaurants serving fresh seafood.
