It has a variety of rich ecosystems which include dunes, salt marshes, beaches, and estuaries. The dunes detach a long xerófila vegetation and beside it are some pines which livens up the presence of the chameleon that is in danger of extinction. Nueva Umbria Beach

This beach is the longest stretch of sand that is uniquely surrounded with water in both of its sides. On one side is the sea while on the other is the rio Piedras where the fishing village of El Rompido lies. To go to this beach you can try walking from the beach of the Antilla or try the alternative which is to cross the Las Marismas del Catalan through an asphalted footpath by car. If you re strong enough, you can even swim from the beach of San Miguel of El Rompido .
