Right on the east of the beach Matalascañas , there is a spectacular stretch of virgin beach that runs along the park of Parque Nacional de Donaña . This part of the town however is accessible only by foot, coming from the eastern corner of the town. They also offer a wide range of old dunes which form from huge parabolic dunes to quaint dunes that are shaped like a hairpin. Quite interestingly there are also those that are sand bars which aligned themselves with prevailing south-western winds along with small active fronts developed which create migrating tongues and corridors.
