TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: COSTA TROPICAL SPAIN MOTRIL
BEACHES
Costa Tropical is blessed with so many amazing beaches that it is of no surprise that Motril , being one of the Costa's important towns, has its line-up of attractive resorts. Motril's coastal strip has two main beaches - Playa Poniente , the most popular, and Playa Granada . Fishing, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing and scuba diving can all be enjoyed by those who are into such fun-filled activities. Those who want to venture into greater heights can choose to land on these local beaches after taking a fancy tour to the mountains with a paraglider or a hang glider.
Granada Beach . Though it s narrow beach, it is also a large one. Granada is characterized by fine dark sand and moderate surge. It offers services such as parking, umbrella and hammocks rental, and waste bins and cleaning services.
Playa de Poniente Beach . Dubbed as the most boisterous beach of all of Motril s beaches, Playa de Poniente is huge beach with 2200 meters as its size, and has an average width of 110 meters. It is characterized by fine dark sand and moderate water surge.
Las Azucenas Beach is a big beach with fine dark sand and pebbles and has a moderate surge. Diving is the primary sport supported by Las Azucenas. It is not yet fully developed though, and thus it somehow has preserved its natural environment.
Torrenueva Beach . The beach is jam-packed with hotels, chalets, and apartments. With that alone, it is very obvious that it is suited for tourists. Its surface is mainly fine dark sand and pebbles, and its surge is moderate.
La Joya Beach . Having a size of 300 meters and an average width of 35 meters, La Joya is apparently a small beach. Moreover, it is a natural beach, thus, it doesn t offer any kind of service. It is characterized by fine dark sand, and moderate surge.
