With a population of 10,500 inhabitants, Salobreña is a nice town with a maze of narrow, cobbled street leading up to its old castle. For shopping needs, the bottom of the town houses a commercial center where shops, supermarkets, bank, a civic theater, and a town hall are located. The long beach below the town stretches all the way to the port of Motril.
