TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: FUERTEVENTURA SPAIN: PLAYA DE JANDÍA

BEACHES

Travel Guides Directory: Fuerteventura Spain Playa de Jandía The beaches found in the Peninsula of Jandía are famous the world over. They are popular with both the naturists and the water sports enthusiasts. Even if you visit the Jandía beaches during peak tourist seasons, its miles and miles of white-sanded beaches make it possible for one to feel relaxed. Jandía Peninsula proudly features two excellent resorts - Costa Calma and Morro Jable.

Costa Calma

Located 45 minutes away from the south of Fuerteventura airport, Costa Calma is the start of the countless beaches in Jandia Peninsula . This resort center includes various shops, local and international restaurants and several bars. Within the center of Costa Calma , there are several cove beaches which tourists may also explore.

Due to its proximity to Sotavento Beach , the Costa Calma is an ideal choice for windsurfers, kite surfers and scuba divers. In fact, this resort hosts several sought-after, well-attended competitions.

Morro Jable

Two decades ago, Morro Jable was only a small fishing village with a working port. This was mainly because the roads going to this old town was made up of sand tracks. Come 1982, the roads to Morro Jable were completed, which then gave way to its progressive tourism. Today, it has grown into one of the island s favorite holiday resorts.

At the center of the town, you may see various craft shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants, and new developments of hotels and apartments. Even so, the town retains its old-town charm and Canarian authenticity, which truly makes it a place to behold.
