The parish church of Guadalupe is the oldest on the island and was built by Maciot de Bethencourt . The church constantly underwent renovations and additions like those that were contributed by families that paid to be buried in its grounds. Although the renovations ended in 1884, in 1909, the church suffered from a fire. It had to be rebuilt, and it was done the church faithful, it was made sure that the original structure of the church was maintained and considered.

An edifice from the 16 th century is El Convento de San Francisco , built by Argote de Molina . Belonging to the Franciscan Order, in it lie the bodies of the most eminent people of the island of Lanzarote . In 1984, it was reformed and converted into the art gallery that it is today, holding exhibitions of contemporary art. (Opening times: Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, Saturdays and Sundays, 11am to 3pm).

The construction of El Palacio de Spinola finished in 1780. It is located in the town s main square, commonly known as La Plaza de Los Leones . Today, it is a museum with an exhibition gallery. (Opening hours: every day except Wednesday, 9:30am to 2:30pm).
