TRAVEL GUIDES DIRECTORY: MALLORCA SPAIN SOLLER
TOWN TRANSPORT
Airport Transfers
Most tour agencies organize transport service from the airport to the hotels.
Bus
Buses leave from outside the Arrivals area. There are a number of buses that connect the airport to Palma and other chief towns and resorts on the island. Moreover, a regular bus service runs along the main road.
Taxis
Taxicabs are also a usual mode of transportation in the island, and are typically available on the arrivals hall of the airport. There are also several taxi companies operating outside the airport.
Car rental
More than a few car hire businesses are represented at the airport, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Prior to booking, ensure if the vehicle that you intend to rent can be picked up and dropped off at the airport, rather than at a location which entails major detours.
Tram
Public transport between the old town of Soller and the port is via the tram system which runs more or less every half an hour. The railway then takes over for the trip down into Palma. This tramway is the only working tram on the island and is locally famous as the "Orange Express" due to the fact that its route starts from the old town then passes by the orange groves and ends at the marina at Puerto de Soller.
